Musubi Maru (Shipments)

Manila-based artist Mark Salvatus works with themes of community and daily culture, performing in diverse situations and also working in urban planning. His ship begins Art Night in an unfinished state and slowly takes shape as we attach receipts from our wallets and pockets to the hull. A “ship of affinities” to make us keenly aware of how we ourselves and all our “baggage” are interconnected with everything else in the world.

Based in Manila and Lucban, Philippines. His work deals with familiar objects, accidental encounters, urban life and political activities and express them using various means such as drawings, installations, photographies and videos.
