G-tokyo 2013 Contemporary Art Fair
Launched in 2010,
G-tokyo is a new style contemporary art fair devoted exclusively to works from the top galleries that drive the Japanese art scene.
G-tokyo offers a unique format distinct from standard, largescale art fairs.
Exhibited works are created especially for first viewing at G-tokyo, and gallery presentations are carefully conceived following an exhibition rather than an art fair model.
For the fourth staging of G-tokyo (2013), the theme is “adventure.” Spatial composition of the venue is courtesy of up-and-coming architect unit Mount Fuji Architects Studio. The show is configured to give visitors a real feel for all the fascination of a contemporary art fair in a way only G-tokyo can: by allowing them to engage intimately with distinctive works and enjoy conversing with working gallerists and artists, in a freeform space light years away from the conventional booth display format.
