Shizuko Yoshikawa, born in 1934, left Japan in 1961 to become the one of few Japanese students at Hochschule für Gestaltung Ulm in Germany. She later moved to Switzerland and worked as a designer for Josef Müller-Brockmann, pioneer of Swiss graphic design, who she married in 1967. She soon turned into art and became an influential figure in Swiss Concrete Art. Drawn on far eastern philosophy and Japanese tradition, she complements the rational and systematic concept with a poetic note, and crates her genuin, individual art. Produced by Lars Müller
