After graduating from Tama Art University’s Department of Ceramic, Glass, and Metal Works in 2010, Makino started working as a sculptor.
She investigates what it means to be animal and what it means to be human, creating mixed-media sculptures that blend characteristics of both.
While principally active in Tokyo, she also participates in art fairs abroad.
