Tsai & Yoshikawa create sculptures that express the energies of water, light, and air, elements which are essential for all life on earth. Strange large aluminum flowers painted with fluorescent paint glow brilliantly in the sunlight during the day and dazzle with blacklight at night, creating a life form with two different faces. It is like a mysterious jewel that suddenly appears in this metropolis and transforms the space into another dimension. “Our sculptures and art installations are catalysts that interact with the movement of light and air, and physical forms that bring forth dreams and hope.”

ARTISTS

Tsai & Yoshikawa

Taiwanese artist Hsiao-Chi Tsai and Japanese artist Kimiya Yoshikawa are a duo living and working in London. Tsai studied textiles and Yoshikawa studied sculpture at the Royal College of Art in England. With an eye on the dynamic energy and stunning presence of the natural world, they create site-specific, fantastical sculptures and installations that continue to captivate audiences throughout Asia and Europe, transforming indoor and outdoor spaces into otherworldly environments.
