The Roppongi Art Night Executive Committee is pleased to announce Saturday, October 31 through Sunday, November 1, 2026, as the dates for Roppongi Art Night 2026, Roppongi’s renowned art festival. This year, the all-night event, at which visitors can enjoy art from sunset to dawn, will return to its original format for the first time in three years. Rediscover the energy of the city's nighttime atmosphere and fully enjoy the ultimate extraordinary experience happening only on this night, in Roppongi, through a series of late-night art tours and performances.
Scenes from past editions
Launched in 2009, Roppongi Art Night is a large-scale cultural event spread throughout Roppongi, an area home to art museums, cultural facilities, large-scale complexes, and various shopping streets. A diverse range of contemporary art, design, music, video, performances, and more are scattered throughout the area, creating extraordinary experiences and encouraging a lifestyle focused on art. As Tokyo's leading art festival, it continues to create new value each year.
In celebration of this being the 15th time* holding this event, the featured program, RAN Focus, in which works by artists active in a specific country or region are highlighted, will look at France, home of the Nuit Blanche Festival (Sleepless Night Festival), which originally served as the model for Roppongi Art Night, bringing excitement to the sleepless city of Roppongi. Don't miss this one-night-only art feast as Roppongi is transformed!
*The 2011 event was canceled due to the Great East Japan Earthquake, and the 2020 and 2021 events were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Additionally, the Open Call Project, a public submission program launched in 2015, is happening again this year, and submissions are now being accepted. Anyone can apply as part of this project, with 101 works having been exhibited over the 11 years leading up to 2025. We look forward to receiving your submissions that could become part of Roppongi Art Night and further enhance the charm of the Roppongi area.

Roppongi Art Night, an event where you can experience various forms of art including contemporary art, performance art, and design from sunset to sunrise, began in 2009 and is modeled after Paris's Nuit Blanche (Sleepless Night Festival). Following the opening of Roppongi Hills and the Mori Art Museum in 2003, and the completion of the National Art Center, Tokyo, Suntory Museum of Art, and Tokyo Midtown in 2007, Roppongi became a new hub for art. Together with the Roppongi shopping district that connects the community and the art galleries concentrated in the surrounding area, this event has continued to showcase Roppongi's value as a place of art and culture, and this year marks the 15th time the event has been held.
Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, we have explored a variety of operating models and have not held the event as an all-night event for the past few years. However, in response to popular demand, the all-night format is finally back! Come enjoy this intense, one-night-only, extraordinary experience, now back in its original format.
This year’s RAN Focus will turn the spotlight on France, the birthplace of Nuit Blanche (Sleepless Night Festival), following on from the focus on Taiwan in 2024 and South Korea in 2025. In collaboration with the Parisian cultural center CENTQUATRE-PARIS, José-Manuel Gonçalvès (former Artistic Director of CENTQUATRE-PARIS) will serve as our guest curator for RAN Focus, offering a variety of enticing works, including installations, video art, and performances. In addition, numerous works of art from Japan, Taiwan, and other countries and regions will be gathered for the event this year. We encourage everyone to experience this creative collaboration that transcends borders and genres.
Roppongi Art Night is a once-a-year festival of Roppongi, art itself, and the future ahead, offering the ultimate all-night experience in the heart of Tokyo. Let's imagine together what kind of future we can create.
