We are pleased to present an exhibition and sale of artworks by KAZUSA MATSUYAMA at Barneys New York Roppongi.
Matsuya creates the “ANONYMOUS PORTRAITS” series, which pursues the inherent beauty within, rather than merely the surface emotions of joy, anger, sorrow, and pleasure, through distorted expressions and abstract depictions.
This exhibition features the “ANONYMOUS PORTRAITS” series, recently unveiled by the artist. It incorporates concepts transcending physical locations—depicting inner mental states and spiritual conditions—designed to allow viewers to overlay their own experiences and feelings. The artist states that viewing the works may prompt viewers to reexamine their own “NOWHERE,” to embrace the stillness or turmoil within their hearts, and to contemplate and feel together the question of how our very existence is shaped.
