Detail
A wooden fish lies on a bench placed on a city plot, where people gaze at each other serenely. This vibrantly colored work, adorned with auspicious patterns, expands on the concept of benches found in the garden of traditional Korean houses and brings it into a modern urban space. Combining several of the narrow benches commonly found in Japan creates a wide Korean-style bench, which can be arranged in various ways in narrow alleys or plazas. This work is not a generic bench, but rather a symbol born through community art, emerging on Ryudo-cho Museum Street.
