Detail
This series reexamines the meaning of festivals and rituals from multiple perspectives, while exploring practical ways to build sustainable systems of urban nature, community, and craftsmanship.
In this edition, we welcome the Hariyama Shishi Odori from Tōno City, Iwate Prefecture, creating a stage for performance at Roppongi Art Night. After experiencing the dance up close, we will reflect on what it means to “become” something other than oneself. Together with our guest speakers in a talk session, we will consider how, within contemporary urban life, we might reframe and practice “festival” in relation to nature and others in our daily lives.
