What are we able to “make” for?
Festivals may be seen as one of the origins of culture in human history. In today’s society, where various forms of division continue to deepen, this project attempts to reconsider the nature of design by looking closely at the relationships that emerge from festivals: land, materials, living beings, stories and communities.
This co-creation workshop carries out the entire process, from gathering materials from the land and making masks and costumes, to creating a dance and presenting it at Roppongi Art Night.

TAMA DESIGN UNIVERSITY Division of PLAY DESIGN
TAMA DESIGN UNIVERSITY is a project that continues to explore advanced fields of design and art through five areas of study. Within its PLAY DESIGN area, it has been developing activities since 2024 that explore what forms festivals might take in the city. This year, together with a group of participating students, the project will create an original festival set within Roppongi Art Night.
