Detail
Wa The Circle is a visual meditation on the duality of existence—transience and eternity, stillness and motion, the individual and the whole. Composed of two floating circles made from white balloons, each six meters in diameter, the installation evokes the concepts of Wa (harmony) and Wa (the circle), symbolizing unity and the cyclical nature of time. The upper circle embodies eternity, the unseen, and the breath of life. These balloons suggest lightness and the enigmatic nature of memory, transcending time itself. The lower circle symbolizes transience, the tangible, and the human world with its materiality. The balloons evoke the fleeting beauty of existence—fragile and ever-changing. The space extending between the two circles is a sacred void, a place that invites quiet contemplation. This Ma (in between)—a concept cherished in Japanese aesthetics—is an interval where all possibilities emerge; it is a moment of stillness bursting with meaning.
