Detail
Wind, light, stone…
A new landscape emerges from the interplay of natural elements and physical expression. Artists living in harmony with the nature of the Seto Inland Sea region—guided by stillness and open space—engage in a shared breath with the natural world through their bodies. A Cyr wheel traces gentle circles, while a large flag sways and drifts with the breeze. An Aji stone, placed upon the stage, remains silent; yet, simply by existing there, it quietly evokes memories of mountains, the sea, and the passage of time in the hearts of the audience. Materials, space, the human body, and the audience—all connect seamlessly and gently to weave a single, unified landscape.

UKIMO Project
UKIMO Project is a contemporary circus collective founded in 2025 in Kagawa, Japan. Inspired by the landscapes of Setouchi, the collective explores the relationship between the human body and nature through circus. Using Cyr wheels, a large flag, and Aji stones, they combine physical expression with wind, light, and stone to create works that move between gravity and suspension. Their performances invite audiences to rediscover their connection with the natural world.
