Detail
Onogoro Stone III draws inspiration from the Kuni-umi creation myth recorded in the Kojiki. Rooted in the legend of brine dripping from Ame-no-Nuboko (the Heavenly Jeweled Spear) and congealing into Onogoro Island, the work reimagines the sacred Kamitategami Stone associated with this creation myth through contemporary materials.
