Detail
Join us for a special tour in English, exploring artworks and the streets of Roppongi together. Whether from far or near, anyone is welcome!
Taking inspiration from the perspective of the flâneur—a figure that emerged in 19th-century Paris who wandered the city without a particular destination, observing the streets and their surroundings—we will explore Roppongi through both its urban landscape and its artworks. This year, we will pay particular attention to light: the ways it illuminates the city and the artworks we encounter along the way. We will take time to interact deeply with the works, and with each other! As we walk through the city, we will approach Roppongi as one vast “open-air museum,” observing its history, terrain, architecture, and the interplay of light and shadow. By looking at the city from a different perspective, we may discover aspects of Roppongi that often go unnoticed in everyday life. Along the way, there may even be surprise encounters with actual artists behind the work. Don’t miss this chance to visit Roppongi, its streets and its art, in new ways!
