1. CLOUDOM
A Tokyo-based DJ who plays diverse genres—mainly House, Disco, and Tech House, but also incorporating Funky House, Techno, UK Garage, R&B, Hip Hop, J-Pop, and K-Pop known for their groovy, danceable selections and a flexible, genre-agnostic approach to DJing. Currently, they hold a residency at Punch Room in The Tokyo EDITION, Ginza, but are active in various locations, including clubs, hotel lounges, fashion events, and brand parties throughout Tokyo. Drawing on their sensibilities as a fashion stylist, they continuously explore a unique form of musical expression.
2. TOMOYUKI TANAKA
Active both in Japan and internationally as a DJ, music producer, and music selector, he debuted in 1997 with the album The Fantastic Plastic Machine and has since released eight original albums. In addition to producing music for numerous artists, he has worked as a remixer on over 100 tracks for acts including Tomoyasu Hotei, Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, UNICORN, Sakanaction, Fatboy Slim, James Brown, Earth, Wind & Fire, and IU. His work has been featured in Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me and Sex and the City. He also composed music for a short animated film created by Takashi Murakami for Louis Vuitton, as well as for UNIQLOCK—a web campaign for Uniqlo that won Grand Prix awards at each of the world’s three major advertising competitions. He also provides music for theatrical productions and oversees music direction for commercial facilities and restaurants.
3. Risa Taniguchi
Risa Taniguchi is a Tokyo-based producer and DJ. Having been immersed in classical music from a young age, she discovered club music while attending the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies and began her professional DJ career in 2008. Over the past four years, she has explored a lo-fi aesthetic characterized by distorted textures, bubbling synth sounds, and a simmering, persistent energy. Her signature style incorporates understated yet striking vocal samples layered over acid basslines, lending her work a raw, edgy aesthetic. Her time spent in London in 2010 gave rise to a deep affinity for the UK underground bass sound, an influence that resonates throughout much of her music. Furthermore, as a classically trained pianist, she continues to play the piano on a daily basis.
4. tamanaramen
tamanaramen is an audiovisual unit based in Tokyo and London, formed by sisters Hana, a visual artist, and Pikam, a singer/producer. Blending whisper-like vocals, abstract sound design, and visual expression, they create immersive sensory experiences where sound and image melt together. They have performed at international festivals including MUTEK Japan and SXSW, and have presented live/DJ sets in cities such as London, Berlin, and New York. In 2023, they were selected for Forbes 30 Under 30. Their practice continues to expand across club spaces and art contexts.
